The Ecochlor® Ballast Water Treatment System uses a two-step treatment process to treat ballast water - filtration followed by chlorine dioxide. The system's effectiveness is not impaired by variations in salinity, temperature, turbidity, organics, and vibration. The rugged, scalable, modular system offers many installation and operational advantages. The automated system is crew-friendly, easy to operate and is highly energy efficient and engineered for long life. With ballast water flow rates up to 16,200 m3/hr and low power consumption it is particularly well-suited for mid-sized to the largest ships in the world.
Ecochlor offers design options for a wide range of vessel types including tankers with hazardous areas and gravity discharge bulk carriers. There are no treatment or neutralization requirements with the Ecochor System on discharge.
Ecochlor maintains a service-centric relationship with the shipowners. Ecochlor has in place a collaborative effort between the vessel operators and our Service Team for both chemical resupply and service maintenance. All ballasting operations with an Ecochlor System are tracked automatically through a Functional Monitoring Data Sheet (FMDS) which summarizes critical operational data. If the Service Team notices any irregularities, or if the crew has concerns, they are proactively addressed through remote troubleshooting or by a ship board visit. The crew looks at this support as a key factor in assisting them to meet regulatory compliance.
Ecochlor has IMO and USCG Type Approval and meets or exceeds their demanding regulatory guidelines. For more information go to www.ecochlor.com
