Mario TamburriResearch Professor at University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science
Dr. Mario Tamburri received a Bachelor’s degree from University of California Santa Barbara and a Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina in biology and marine science. He is now a Professor at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, where he directs the Alliance for Coastal Technologies and Maritime Environmental Resource Center. Both programs are focused on facilitating the development and adoption of innovations to address critical environmental issues. In particular, Dr. Tamburri has worked for over 20 years on the prevention of aquatic invasive species through ships’ ballast water and biofouling.
