Where Shipping Business Gets Done

The Connecticut Maritime Association is a non-profit organization built by its members for its members. It is an Association made of individuals representing every aspect of shipping and international trade.

Who are the CMA

The Connecticut Maritime Association is an organization for its members by its members.

From ship owners and managers to bunker brokers, and tug-boat operators, from lawyers and underwriters, to brokers and shippers; each CMA member has an equal and separate vote.  Today, Southwestern Connecticut is home to more maritime-related businesses than any comparable area in the country and has become one off the most important shipping centers in North America and the shipping world.

For thirty four years members of the CMA have worked together to produce the annual Conference and Trade Exhibition - ensuring that the ideas and activities meet the expectations of a busy and fast paced international maritime industry.

During the remainder of the year the CMA organizes monthly luncheons for the exchange of commercial information and networking: sponsors thousands of dollars of scholarships to assist the next generation coming into our industry: runs a major internship program providing jobs to dozens of young college aged students; hosts special events such as a major fund raiser for and abroad a Liberty Ship: host a remarkable  America's Cup 12-meter Regatta on Long Island Sound: and works each day to meet its goal to: provide an open forum for individuals to exchange ideas and information supporting the development and growth of the maritime industry and international trade.
