Capt. Gagan Pal Singh is working with Essar Ports in capacity of Vice President and Head Dredging. In his capacity as head Dredging, he is incharge for all the dredging requirement of Essar Ports.
He is responsible for creating and maintaining a Deep water port in Tapi River estuary and Deep water port in Salaya. Captain Gagan started his career in 1990 in merchant navy. Till 2001 he had been sailing in various capacities and from 2001 till 2008 he had been sailing as Master on various types of vessels ranging from Product Tankers to VLCC’S. In 2009 he stepped ashore as Dredging superintendent with Essar. In 2010 he was promoted to head of dredging operations and in year 2012 he was promoted to Head Dredging.
The projects completed under him speak about his experience;
In Tapi Estuary the port was created by way of capital dredging amounting to 35 Million Cubic mtrs and Reclamation of 220 Hectare. After completion of dredging there is annual maintenance of nearly 7million cbm per Annum which is being done with in house dredgers. In Development of Salaya Deep water Port 1.2 million cubic mtr of Rock dredging was done. He is incharge of fleet of Four dredgers Two cutter dredger, one trailer suction and one Backhoe dredger. He is acting as Company security Officer, Head Quality and Safety, Head Operations for the fleet and liase with statutory bodies pertaining to that role. He is a core team member of Essar Port who is involved in greenfield projects and brownfield projects.
His present designation is Vice President and Head Dredging.
