Tim Wickmann joined WSC in 2018 as Managing Director, Asia and is based in Singapore. Tim manages all WSC matters throughout Asia and Oceania and coordinates among the various industry stakeholders in the individual countries, other relevant shipping groups in the region, and the WSC subject matter experts.
Tim began his shipping career in 1990 and has worked in various leadership positions in international liner shipping since 1999 in several countries, including Denmark, Argentina, South Korea and Singapore. Most recently, Tim was the CEO of MCC Transport, The Intra Asia arm of Maersk Line (now called Sealand) from 2008 to 2017 and brings operational expertise and in-depth knowledge of shipping related issues in the various countries in the Asia region.
Tim holds an Executive MBA from London Business School and Colombia University in New York. Tim is multi-lingual. He is fluent in Danish and English, has a working knowledge of Spanish, German and Swedish and a basic understanding of Korean.
