Daniel M. Gianfalla is Vice Chairman of United Metro Energy Corp., for Acquisitions and Government Affairs. Previously, he held the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of United Metro Energy Corp. from 2013 to 2016. Dan has worked in the maritime and energy sectors for over 30 years. He is considered a maritime expert and was recently appointed by the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to the National Maritime Security Advisory Committee, tasked with advising the Secretary, the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, and the President of the United States on maritime security issues. He has been involved in government affairs throughout his career and currently serves on the NYC Mayor’s Taskforce on Climate Change Adaptability, and was a corporate board member of the ConocoPhillips PAC from 2002 to 2012. A Master Mariner, Dan earned his Unlimited Tonnage Master’s License and sailed on oceangoing tankers for many years with Exxon Shipping Co. He traveled to all major U.S. ports, as well as sailing to Alaska, Northern Europe, Asia, Central America, and the Caribbean. He joined Tosco Corporation in 1993 and later served as Vice President of Tosco Pipeline Company. Following the mergers of Tosco, Phillips Petroleum and ConocoPhillips, he continued in management positions for Phillips 66 Co. overseeing marine terminals, petroleum distribution, and pipeline operations on the U.S. East Coast. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY. and accepted a commission as a U.S. Navy Reserve Officer.
