Following advanced studies in Civil Engineering at Cooper Union College, Matthew graduated from New York Maritime College with a degree in Naval Architecture. Since 2013, he has become an integral part of the T&T team providing engineering, project management, logistics, planning, cost analysis and operational support. He has managed and been actively involved in large scale salvage and emergency response operations. In coordination with T&T’s salvage team, Matthew has developed Salvage and Port of Refuge Plans that have been approved and reviewed by the United States Coast Guard, class societies, local and international authorities and marine surveyors. Matthew is intricately involved in T&T’s OPA90 (Oil Pollution Act of 1990) compliance program where he has served as the project Naval Architect, coordinated responses, participated in full scale salvage and oil spill response exercises and served as liaison to the United States Coast Guard. Of note, is Matt’s recent deployment to Hurricane stricken Puerto Rico where he actively supported the U.S. Government in the maritime recovery efforts and mitigating damage to the marine environment.
Matthew is co-manager of the Mega-Boxship Solutions Technical Working Committee as well as the LNG Response Working Group which seek to catalyze industry-driven prevention and response solutions. He is also an active member of the Society of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineers.
