Helio VicenteSenior Adviser (Policy) at International Chamber of Shipping
Helio is a Senior Adviser (Policy) at the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), which is the principal international trade association for merchant shipowners and operators, representing all sectors and trades and over 80% of the world merchant fleet.
He joined ICS in April 2016 where, among other things, he is the Secretary of the Shipping Policy Committee (SPC) and Canals Sub-Committee. In this capacity he oversees all shipping and trade policy related matters. He is also one of the ICS representatives at designated meetings of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Helio has 12 years of experience in the maritime transport sector, having previously worked at the Permanent Representation of Angola to the IMO, the Maritime Organization of West and Central Africa, and most recently at the IMO (Sub-Division for Maritime Security and Facilitation).
