Andrew Sillitoe is the lead specialist for regulatory risk assessment in Lloyd's Register’s Regulatory Affairs department, based in the Global Technology Centre in Southampton, UK. He monitors regulatory developments, in their early stages and through to adoption and implementation, to identify items which have a significant impact on the industry and on LR.
As well as international legislation, he monitors EU developments which affect ships based on flag or geographical trading area, and is LR’s member (and past chairman) of the IACS expert group on the EU.
He has worked in Regulatory Affairs since 2011. Before that he worked in the human element/human factors field including in LR’s Research and Development department, and in the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s (MCA) Risk Analysis and Prevention department.
