Daryl Williamson is the commercial development director of Lloyd’s List Intelligence. He is the key link between the Lloyd’s List Intelligence content and commercial teams, working with stakeholders across the business to improve their products and services.
Daryl has over 25 years’ experience, providing maritime security information services and developing software tools for governments and administrations throughout the world. He was instrumental in ensuring Lloyds List Intelligence’s user mainframe systems were internet ready prior to the commercial acceptance of the Web. He is the principal architect of Lloyd’s List Intelligence - Vigilance Vessel Risk Profiling System and a regular speaker at commercial and government conferences.
Daryl has extensive industry knowledge and experience of manging information technology and consultancy projects and the practical application of technology to business and to maritime security.
His early career, after graduating with a Chemistry BSc in 1975, was developing decision support systems and the creation of early business intelligence systems for a major UK High Street chain.
Joining Lloyd’s of London Press in 1990 as Systems Development Manager his core responsibility was manging the programming and development teams tailoring Lloyds List Intelligence’s commercial information feeds and applications for government use. A major part of his career at Lloyds List Intelligence has been managing large projects to ensure Lloyds List Intelligence information delivers effective business advantage and insight to commercial and government clients.
Daryl’s strategic and detailed use of maritime information to support both the consultancy and operational divisions of Lloyd’s List Intelligence, enables Daryl to identify, devise and deliver solutions and applications to meet and to anticipate customers' changing needs
