Mads Bentzen Billesø holds a Masters license and has a maritime background on product tankers and container vessels in worldwide trade.
After ending his career at sea in 2005, he worked in the National Coordination at Danish Maritime Safety Administration (DaMSA) responsible for Maritime Safety Information and vessel management.
From 2009-2017 Mads was part of Danish Maritime Authority’s e-Navigation team, Project Manager and otherwise involved in a number of national and international projects dealing with e-navigation, maritime technology and standardization, including EfficienSea, ACCSEAS, EfficienSea 2 and ArcticWeb projects. Mads was in same period part of Denmark’s representation at IMO NCSR and HTW Sub-committees as well as in IALA’s e-Navigation Committee and Expert member of IHO S-124 Working Group.
Mads has since June 2017 worked as Senior Project Manager Innovation and Technology in DFDS, manage a number of innovation, technology and digitalization projects within shipping and logistics.
Mads is developing partnerships, Open Innovation spaces and projects with external partners (co-creation or funded).
