Captain Gregory Stanclik serves as Deputy Director of the U.S. Coast Guard’s Marine Transportation Systems Directorate at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters. He is responsible for a wide variety of navigation safety and security functions including Waterways Management, Aids to Navigation, Domestic and Polar Ice Operations, Coastal and Marine Spatial Planning, Permitting for Bridges, and Arctic and Antarctic Policy Programs. Prior to assuming his current position, Captain Stanclik was the Commanding Officer of USCG Cutter POLAR STAR from June 2018 to June 2020. POLAR STAR was CAPT Stanclik’s sixth tour afloat, culminating almost 14 years of sea service. Captain Stanclik earned his permanent Cutterman insignia in 2000.
