Darren Shelton is a 28-year maritime industry veteran, managing multiple shipping agencies, serving as lead auditor in ISO quality management systems and most recently being tasked with driving the digital initiatives for Moran Shipping, North America's premier maritime agency.

In 2018 he envisioned a blockchain startup for the downstream energy sector which led to his co-founding FuelTrust, a data science company with SaaS solutions that accurately calculate emissions for seagoing vessels.

Darren is presently finishing his eMBA with the University of East London, adding to his studies Stephen F. Austin State University and Hope International University. He received an honorary degree from Alvin Community College and presently serves on the Board of Regents there. He has served as Chairman of both the Lone Star Harbor Safety Committee and the Alvin-Manvel Area Chamber of Commerce, besides being on the boards of several other community organizations. His family lives in the Houston suburb of Alvin TX.
